Dungeness Crab Stuffed Baked Shells
Servings: 6
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked Crab Meat or Shredded Sea Legs
12 oz (1 package) jumbo Pasta Shells
2 gloves garlic, finely chopped
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 (15 ounce) can plum tomatoes in juice, chopped
A Pinch of red pepper flakes
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
1 large egg, beat lightly
2 cups Ricotta Cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese, divided
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Directions: Set up your kitchen area and prep the meal.
1. Bring your oven up to a 375ºF temperature. Next you will want to cook and prepare your pasta shells according to the package directions. When done, then drain off the water and rinse with cool water.
2. During the preparation of your pasta, you will also need to heat a large skillet with cooking oil over a medium-high heat. Next add the garlic and sauté for approximately 1 to 1 1/2 minutes.
3. When your garlic has been sauted, then you will stir in the tomatoes and seasonings, red pepper, salt and oregano. Lower the skillet heat to about medium-low. Continue to simmer the mixture for about 15 to 20 minutes, until the tomatoes are ready.
4. During your skillet prep, you will want find a bowl to mix and combine the crab meat, ricotta cheese, egg, 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese, parsley, and black pepper. Mix all of these ingredients well and let set for a few minutes to rest.
5. Then you will need to stuff the pasta shells with the ricotta mixture. Prep and layer the stuffed shells in a baking dish and cover the shells with the tomato sauce. Sprinkle the rest of the Parmesan cheese over the shells and tomato sauce.
6. Put the baking dish in the oven and bake the stuffed shells for about 15 to 18 minutes or until the shells are heated through. Serve and enjoy. If you like a little heat, you can add a few hot chile peppers to the plate.
